Each month, Bellwyck Pharma Services will be shining a spotlight on some of our brightest experts in our Meet the Team Spotlight features.

For our second spotlight, we’d like to introduce Leroy Anderson – Bellwyck Pharma Services’ Senior Manager of Operations at our Burlington facility. Leroy has been with Bellwyck for more than six years and has gained over 40 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry.

Within those six years at Bellwyck, Leroy has been an integral component to the success of:

  • The startup of the Clinical Operations for Bellwyck’s Burlington facility
  • Migrating the clinical business from both Patheon Whitby and Bellwyck Mississauga to our Burlington facility
  • The startup of Bellwyck Pharma Services’ first U.S. location in West Chester, Ohio

We sat down with Leroy to discuss his experience in the clinical packaging field. Here’s what Leroy had to say:

What does a typical day at Bellwyck look like for you?

“A typical day consists of a variety of tasks from review of daily volumes and staff allocation in shipping and packaging, to resolving customer inquiries and resolving different issues each day.  Each day is a little different and can go in many different directions, depending on the requirements that are needed.

Currently I am working on helping to transition a couple of Canadian controlled studies to be controlled within the U.S.  I am also working on a few in-house process improvement projects.”

What is your favourite part of your day?

“Knowing that all of the orders got out on time, all of the packaging jobs are on track, and all exports were delivered and released by customs.”

What do you like most about working in the clinical packaging industry?

“I like the variety of the different packaging and project types, the short delivery timeframe, and the fact that there’s never a dull day!  I also enjoy passing on my insight and training to our up and coming staff members.”

What do you find most challenging about working in the clinical packaging industry?

“I would say the constant struggle to maintain the temperature range during transit, despite the number of curves that customs throw our way, can be a bit challenging at times. “

What is the best advice you were ever given?

“Treat people as you would like to be treated.”

What is one of your favourite inspirational quotes?

“Do unto others as you would have done to you”.  This quote will stay with me for life.

Bellwyck Pharma Services would like to thank Leroy Anderson for his hard work and dedication!
